2019 conference info – letter from the president

To all new and renewing members,

We have some news and exciting opportunities to share with you regarding this year’s conference!

First, some news: Your BSTX Board worked diligently with Northeast Region Biofeedback Society (NRBS) and UTSA (previous years’ conference site) to plan and provide a combination of NRBS live stream, as well as live presenters for this year’s annual conference on November 16th. Unfortunately, due to an unforeseen scheduling conflict for UTSA, the board was asked to move our scheduled date up to October. We’re grateful to UTSA for their alternate date offer, but because of all the effort put into working hand-in-hand with NRBS and their conference offerings, we decided that we could not do justice to our annual conference tradition within this shortened timeframe.

However, from every challenge comes new opportunity! Because of our great relationship with NRBS, we have retained the rights to offer all of NRBS’ Main Conference (Friday, Nov. 15- Sun. Nov. 17) via online access packages, with options that include Dr. Bessel van der Kolk’s two presentations, CEUs, and BSTX membership! Package options offer LIVE streaming of Saturday’s presenters, as well as video recordings of Friday and Sunday’s conference.

No matter how far you may be located from the Northeast region, you’ll be able to take advantage of this online access. Most of our surrounding states do not currently have functioning societies, and while the possibility exists for ours to grow into a regional society, technology will absolutely be the key to growing our reach. Your board is excited about this opportunity to diversify our offerings, and to utilize this platform to further share this annual conference, and extend our cause in robust and viable ways for our entire state and beyond!

These options are available now on our website! You can view and purchase all package options here:

We sincerely ask that you consider renewing your membership, or joining the Biofeedback Society of Texas. This organization has served the educational, networking and advocacy needs of biofeedback professionals for 40+ years. We are currently working hard on growing our reach. We are updating our website to be able to offer better content and capabilities, such as video files and streaming, blogs, and sales cart capabilities. Beginning December 1st, we will be offering monthly biofeedback videos from a variety of professionals. We are also working hard on planning for next year’s annual conference!

I have been a member of the Biofeedback Society of Texas since late 2016, and have benefitted both personally and professionally from the relationships and opportunities for professional growth offered by this organization. It has been my honor to serve on the board, to step up as Vice-President last year, and to be entrusted as President for 2019. We have a board that is skilled, hardworking, and full of professional experience and insight. All of us care deeply about the needs of biofeedback providers and their clients, and we invite you to participate with us through our online conference opportunity and your membership. Many, if not most of us, are beneficiaries of our own profession. My loved ones and I have benefited greatly from these modalities, and are forever grateful. My only regret is that I didn’t find this stuff sooner! People cannot know what they’re missing if they don’t know it even exists.

We at BSTX hope to change that by partnering with people like you. We aim to grow our presence, and make great use of strategic marketing and networking in order to spread the word about bio and neurofeedback! Thank you in advance for joining and/or donating.

Sincerely,
Arturo Dominguez
President
