Dear Member of the Biofeedback Society of Texas,
In case we haven’t met personally, my name is Allen Novian, and I am honored to be your 2020 BST president. I graduated with my PhD in 2007, and I’ve been in the field since 2001, working with a wide range of clientele using both neurofeedback and biofeedback. I have always valued the connection BST provides to like-minded others in our state. My professional experience began in my Masters and Doctoral programs at St. Mary’s University along with the Audie Murphy VA Hospital, and I’ve been in private practice since 2008.
This year has been a whirlwind of unexpected circumstances, hasn’t it? 2020 is definitely turning into a season of systemic dysregulation, and our field is more desperately needed than ever before! As president of BST, I want to ensure that our society remains a vibrantly active organization, focused on the education and professional development that you’ve come to depend on.
As a board, we also want to foster communication within our membership throughout the remainder of the year. We are facing the difficulties associated with putting on educational events when a traditional conference is not responsible or wise. To that end, the 2020 BST board has come up with several exciting ideas for building connection and community. In the next few days, we will be inviting your attendance at the first of our Virtual Events. This first one will be Members Only and is designed to foster communication amongst our membership and the board and to determine the course of action for coming events. So please be on the lookout for an e-mail announcing that event!
Let’s move Texas forward together in self-regulation as the Biofeedback Society of Texas!
Blessings,Allen Novian, PhD, LMFT-S, LPC-S, BCN
